The European Commission has tried to improve the labour market situation with programs such as Youth on the Move. However, these were good initiatives, according to the ETUC Youth Committee the policies failed to adress some important problems.
They call for in the document below for a more effective actions:
„This document provides views and recommendations of the European youth workforce represented by the ETUC – Youth Committee on a series of topics earmarking the reality of work for young workers: working conditions, transitions from the educational system to the labour market or to further education (traineeships, apprenticeships, dual learning, entrepreneurship and mobility).”
Just to have a job at the moment is not enough, the youth need quality jobs.
